J. Robinson Wheeler's  Art

About This Collection

I have always liked to draw, but at the same time, I have always had friends who were better at it than I was. They had a certain knack that I had to struggle to imitate, but I had a persistence that eventually paid off.

I finally feel that I'm drawing at a level of skill and fluency that I am happy with. Drawing is a joy, and a somewhat meditative experience. It's also a lot of hard work, but I'll do it until I'm too enfeebled to put a pen to paper any more. I do all of my sketchbook work in ballpoint pen, using it like a permanent pencil, but I also do india ink illustration and the occasional Photoshop noodling (I have a strange passion for artfully coloring black and white photos).
